    Hey There

    About Your Therapist

I'm Renata (she/her), the founder and psychotherapist behind Soluma Psychotherapy. I'm based in Sydney and available online. I'm a registered counsellor with the Australian Counselling Association (ACA) where I hold a level 2 membership. I hold a Bachelors degree in Psychotherapy  and Counselling. I also hold membership with PACFA.

My path to becoming a psychotherapist began long before I ever sat in a lecture hall. In my early twenties, life brought a series of challenges that cracked me open and led me into a deep journey of self-discovery. At the time, I was grappling with mystery illnesses, the weight of unprocessed childhood trauma, and my own mental health struggles. I didn’t know it then, but these experiences would become the foundation for my work today.

Searching for healing and truth, I began peeling back the layers — of pain, of programming, of beliefs that no longer served me. I became a yoga instructor in 2016, where I first came to understand the profound connection between the body and the mind. This led me to Ka Huna bodywork in 2019, where I deepened not just my understanding of the body, but of the soul — and the incredible wisdom we hold within.

Over time, I realised that healing isn't linear. It’s a spiral — a returning to self, again and again. I learned about everything from trauma to the unconscious mind, from the nervous system to the deeper layers of spirit. I began to embody what I had once only intellectually understood: that true healing happens when we are seen, heard, and supported — in mind, body, and soul.

Earning my Bachelor in Counselling and Psychotherapy was the moment I knew I was ready — not to be the expert on someone else’s life, but to walk with others through the darkness, and toward their own light. My studies gave language and structure to what I had already lived and begun to practice. They helped me integrate evidence-based modalities with the lived wisdom I had gathered over the years.

Now, as a holistic, heart-centred therapist, I don’t believe in a one-size-fits-all approach. I work in a way that honours the whole person — their pain, their resilience, their soul — and tailor the work to meet each client exactly where they are.
